3 Must Have Recipes For Every Halloween Party

by Unknown

Does you house creak at the seams with party goers every Halloween? And the Halloween recipes you serve every year are probably the same each year. While you can't overlook the traditional recipes for a great Halloween party, it's a great idea to find new way to turn the old recipes into brand new Halloween treats.

1. Eyeballs and Fingers. Having a bowl of peeled grapes as eyeballs and raw hot dogs as fingers is a staple addition to creep out your guests. However, how many people actually eat them? Probably not very many and you are left with inedible leftovers. Try coming up with new body-part snacks that are actually edible. Making any dish and calling it something eerily disgusting can have the same effect. Such as "intestine stew" with curly cue noodles in it or "brain mush dip" of guacamole or chip dip. It is easy to gross out your guests with really delicious food.

2. Dirt Dessert. Vanilla pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms combined have definitely been the winning dessert of Halloween recipes. To remake such a yummy classic can be difficult, but also fun. Instead of making dirt pudding, try interpreting it into other forms. A dirt pie with an Oreo cookie crust and cheesecake filling or a dirt cake with vanilla batter and chocolate frosting are both big hits. Gummy worms can be added to any variation. Also, think about how you serve a dessert like dirt. Get little buckets for individual dishes or put a shovel in the bowl for serving.

3. Pumpkins and Apples. Autumn is a great time for making anything from pumpkins and apples. Turning them into spooky treats is easy. It's easy to stick with pies but why not try something more rustic. Baked apples are great side dishes and toasted pumpkins seeds make great snacks. Pumpkin picking and bobbing for apple are popular at children's parties. Caramel apples are common so why not try other dips and have a candied apple buffet. And if you don't like pumpkin, hollow it out and make it into a serving bowl.

Great Halloween recipes are fun to make, look good, and are good to eat. Remember this when thinking about your traditional Halloween recipes. Or ask your guests for suggestions or create a potluck with your visitors contributing to the food. Some food is best served at Halloween. Keep it new and fresh and you'll hold the best Halloween party in your neighborhood.
